Removal of OO Drop Down...

Postby Richard Hancock » Mon May 17, 2004 9:18 am

I am using SSM7 and have come accross a problem I need resolved. The
majority of my items will have discounts applied based upon who has
registered with my site. The only way I have seen to do it is with the
order options feature. Is there a way to NOT have it desplay on the
shopping cart screen or am I just SOL?

Richard,
Order Options always display in the shopping cart.

With a ShopSite 7 Pro store you can apply specific coupons to groups and
assign customer to a group so that when they register or signin the
coupon(s) are automatically added to the cart.

Maybe if you explain more about what you are trying to do there may be
other options.

Im using PHP to handle all of my display and ordering, creating the
links neccesary to use the SS cart and order processing features. I
will be creating a user login system and I want to apply discounts on
physical products on the fly. I just don't want to upgade to the Pro
version to do this one thing.

I'm not sure how or if you would be able to do this. You guess you
could preselect order options based on someones login but once the
product is added to the cart all the options would be displayed so they
would be free to select any option since they are all displayed in the
cart and are changeable. With a Pro store you could possibley use the
variable price product to create the price on the fly and they they
wouldn't be able to change that in the cart. I can't think of a feature
available in a Manager store that would allow you do do that though.
