After FTP upload and reset, images not showing correctly

Postby royhink » Tue Oct 20, 2015 11:11 am

I remember having this issue once before, but I must be missing a step.

I've uploaded some 1000 images in 10 folders into my <store>/media folder, and chose all images in each folder to reset attributes and create resized, then regenerated the store, but the images in just one directory (media/Comp) still do not show correctly on the 'category' page. All other images are showing correctly. The 'More Info' product page is showing correctly for all.

I first checked permissions, and this folder and contents have the same permissions as the rest.

On the Product Pages: Product image Size and More Info Page Image Size are set correctly.

Have I missed something?

When you look at the media/comp directory by ftp are there directories ss_size1, ss_size2, ss_size3 in that directory? If not check the permissions on it again and then use ShopSite to create the resized images again.

Make sure that you force the pages to reload in case your browser has the other images cached.

If you make other changes on the page do they display on the page? Maybe the page itself isn't being generated because of permissions issues.

Still on this weird problem

# ls -l | grep media
drwxrwxr-x 27 ubuntu www-data 122880 Oct 20 18:53 media

media# ls -l
drwxrwxr-x 4 ubuntu www-data 12288 Oct 21 18:42 Comm
drwxrwxr-x 5 ubuntu www-data 12288 Oct 21 18:42 Comp // this is the problem folder
drwxrwxr-x 4 ubuntu www-data 12288 Oct 21 18:42 Culture

Sample from an image folder that is displaying correctly:
# ls -l Comm
-rwxrwxr-x 1 ubuntu www-data 43416 Dec 7 2012 C-ZAF-CBG-Comm.png
drwxrwxr-x 2 ubuntu www-data 4096 Oct 20 17:41 ss_size1
drwxrwxr-x 2 ubuntu www-data 4096 Oct 15 23:45 ss_size2

Sample from image folder NOT displaying correctly on the 'category' page:
# ls -l Comp
-rwxrwxr-x 1 ubuntu www-data 55476 Nov 28 2012 C-ZAF-CBG-COMP.png
drwxrwxr-x 2 ubuntu www-data 4096 Oct 16 23:08 ss_size1
drwxrwxr-x 2 ubuntu www-data 4096 Oct 15 23:48 ss_size2
drwxrwxr-x 2 ubuntu www-data 4096 Oct 15 23:48 ss_size3

The resizing seems to be working. Note todays date:
# ls -l Comp/ss_size2
-rwxrwxr-x 1 ubuntu www-data 15388 Oct 21 18:28 C-ZAF-CBG-COMP.png

I cleared the cache - no effect.

I can alter the custom template that runs the page and the changes show (after a regen), so Shopsite is writing the page.

And I keep double-checking the Product Image Size, which is set correctly to 'Small / Thumbnail" .

If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears. I know permissions is a likely culprit, but I just don't see the problem.

Are there images in the ss_size1, etc directories in both Comp and Comm directories?

There doesn't happen to be a space or other non-displaying character at the end of the Comm directory name does there?

Solved it. On Linux, the file names are case sensitive.

On Linux, there is a difference between Comp/C-BLR-CBG-Comp.png and Comp/C-BLR-CBG-COMP.png.

Whats really weird is that I put a CheckCaseOnly directive into the sites-available/stockmapagency.conf file, but it still did not pick this issue up.

Jim, Thanks for your help. Appreciate it.
