Abandoned Cart emailing finished transactions

I activated the Abandoned Cart email feature a week or two ago.

Just this week we've had three customers call after having received an abandoned cart email for transactions they had actually completed. One of them thought they'd done something wrong so they purchased the items again.

Have deactivated it for now. But any ideas as to why this would be happening?
