Downloading order database

Postby kiltym » Wed Aug 09, 2017 11:37 am

Running 12 sp2.

Trying to download a full order database to excel.

I access Utilities->Database->Download.

Select "All orders".

The file that I get is only a fraction of them, like the first 200 or so......

If I put in a year date range, same thing, only get like the first 200 for that year.....??

Why is this not actually giving me "all orders" when I select that option?

Thank you!

You are running an older version 12 of ShopSite. The first thing to try should be to upgrade to a newer version.

Note: if you are using any 3rd-party services in ShopSite, like payment gateways, paypal, real-time shipping quotes, Avatax, Doba, Constant Contact, etc, you will need to upgrade soon for TLS 1.2 compatibility anyway.

According to these:

http://www.shopsite.com/blog/2015/10/new-shopsite-release-v12-service-pack-2/
http://help.shopsite.com/help/12.2/en-US/sc/pro/index.htm?page=/help/12.2/en-US/new-features.html

12 sp2 has TLS 1.2....

The functions in sp3 we don't need, so have not upgraded.

Anyone else know why the database download is not working? Could it be some constraint on our MySQL limiting the max rows?

Is it always the same number of orders? Or is it around the same? If it's not exact, your web host may be limiting the CPU and/or memory used to download the data.

Another option is to try it in a different browser like Firefox or Chrome, to rule out your browser terminating the connection. Do you have access the web error logs? Those may shed some light on the issue.

You should reach out to your web host, as they can help troubleshoot this issue.
