Customizing the Search Results Page

Postby Ian Scorer » Mon Feb 21, 2005 12:16 pm

I'm in the process of creating a set of ShopSite templates for my
website and am currently working through the Search template.

No real problems except that ShopSite generates a lot of unnecessary
HTML code at the bottom of the search results page in order to display
links to any additional search results pages (e.g. "1 2 3 4 5 6" etc).
Specifically a load of HTML tables - one for each 10 pages...

In addition, each "link" to a new results page is actually an HTML form
input button so you're actually quite limited when it comes to using CSS
to control the "look" of these "links".

As far as I can tell, this code is generated as a result of the
[-- SEARCHRESULT_FORM --] ShopSite tag and unfortunately I can't find a
way of customizing this tags output.

I've searched all the postings here, the online help and the knowledge
base, but can't find any further information. I'm running SS 7.1.2 Pro.

So far I've been impressed with the level of control ShopSite has given
me over the HTML it outputs, allowing me to get fairly close to my web
standards based design - it would be a shame if I was stuck with the
pretty awful HTML that is output at the bottom of each search results page.

Anyone have any thoughts?
