Producing a Sales Report based on Custom Field "field01"

Postby Luis Ramos » Fri May 06, 2005 3:06 pm

Hello Fellow Shopsite Users, and thank you Jim, for helping me with my
previous question.

I created a custom field upon CHECKOUT, named "field01" that allows the
customer to select a SHRINE to contribute 10% of the purchase price.
"field01" with the selected SHRINE information, is put INTO the order.
The question now is:
What do I need to do, to produce a Report, adding up ALL orders belonging to
EACH SHRINE selected?
Can somebody provide me with ANY pointers on how to do this?
Thanks in advance for your tremendous help!

ShopSite does not have a reporting feature that would generate such a
report, but you can download your orders in a tab-delimited format which
you can load into virtually any spreadsheet program (Excel, QuattroPro,
OpenOffice.org, etc) and sort by the various columns available. All of
the Custom Field data will be in the 'Custom Fields' column in each
order (see
http://www.shopsite.com/help/7.1/en-US/ ... ormat.html),
so if you have a lot of custom fields it may be difficult to make the
kind of report you are talking about, but if you only have one custom
field it should be fairly easy to have your spreadsheet sort the orders
based on the Custom Fields column to group the orders for each SHRINE
together.
