[-- STORE.Date --] not working?

Postby Rodney » Wed Jul 27, 2005 12:55 pm

I have the tag [-- STORE.Date --] in my main page template to show the
current date in my store (I guess to make the store seem always "fresh") but
it seems to be stuck on Tues July 12, 2005.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Thanks,

The template tags are only evaluated at the time of the Publish. So if
your main page hasn't been generated since July 12, then this is why the
date is what it is. Also, the date is the server date, so if your server
date is off, then that would be a problem.

That's good to know. I guess I should just use javascript there instead
since I don't plan on publishing my main page every day.

I thought it would always show the current server date.

"I thought it would always show the current server date."

Current as of the time the page was published. These are static pages
that are being generated.

JavaScript or Server Side Includes would be the best way to dynamically
display a date.
