Variable pricing question

I am attempting to add an item with variable pricing so customers can add a
donation to hurricane relief to their order if they want. I set up a
variable pricing product that allows a value to be input and it works from a
category link, but if you fill in the blank on a More Info page, and add the
item to the shopping cart, the value isn't transferred to the cart and this
message appears at the top of the shopping cart: "No variable price
specified, item not added to the shopping cart.". The source code for the
price input box is the same for both pages, but for some reason only one
works. Is there something that needs to be turned on for variable pricing
to work from a More Info page or am I just missing something else?

and it doesn't work
The category page URL is http://www.freebears.com/store/about_us.htm (the
link is near the bottom of the page and it works)

On the More Info Page, the Price form field is not inside of the Add to
Cart form. So when the form is submitted to the cart, the Price does not
go along.
