Editing product field titles

Hi,

I'm playing around with the ShopSite demo store, trying to figure out if
this is the right product for a bookstore I'm designing.

I'm having trouble finding a way to add product fields, such as Author to a
product. I've seen "Product Field 1" under Extra Fields, in the Add Product
interface, but is there a way to have this "Product Field 1" renamed to
"Author"? And have users search by Author.

You can't rename the field in the back office but on your custom
template you can put whatever label you want by text from the field itself.
