How Do You Maintain Your Product Database?

Postby Larry Bohen » Tue Feb 21, 2006 1:36 pm

For years I've maintained our audiobook titles product db with MS Access on
my desktop. We currently have about 11,000 records in the db. Just about
everyday I upload changes and additions to our ShopSite Pro Web store. I
have always worked in what I call "native" or "raw" Access. I.E. I do not
use a form or GUI.

I want to train someone to add titles to this db, however, I would like to
find an easy interface in that not everyone wants or has the ability to work
in native Access.

I am curious how others maintain their ShopSite product dbs. I am
particularly interested in form-based interfaces with Access.

We use Product Manager and love it by Stone Edge but as far as I know they
no longer offer it.

I looked into Stone Edge's ShopSite Product Manager two years ago and was
concerned that there was almost no activity in the user forum for this
product.

I am still very interested in learning how others (with thousands of
products) maintain their product database for upload to their ShopSite
store.
