Product Field 1-5 on Custom Product Templates

Hi,

Why would one use any of these fields? I use custom product templates in my
store but I don't know what I would ever put in these fields.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You might use the fields for any information that is specific to each
product. For example, I took a quick look at your site and I see the "When
Will It Ship" box. This could be programmed in the template so that you put
the information for the box into a product field. We use it for listing the
manufacturer of a product, the size of a product, and we use one of the
fields to input information that will trigger certain actions by the
template, like where to put a product on the page.

It would be helpful if those five fields could be renamed to better suit the
site's products. Instead of "Product Field 3," it could say "Product Waranty
Info," for example.

But I understand there's no way to rename them.
