Coupon/Reward clash - is there a solution?

Postby David Gray » Thu Mar 23, 2006 7:47 am

I have a slight problem with the following scenario:

Customer adds product X to cart, earns a reward. Ok.
Customer adds coupon for product X to cart (making it free). Ok.
Customer still has reward. Not Ok.

Is there any way I can cancel a reward if the customer also applies a
coupon? The intention is to give my existing customers a coupon (to get a
free product X) and new customers a reward for purchasing product X. As it
stands, existing customers would get both the coupon and the reward. A
little too generous.

Coupons and Rewards are not mutually exclusive so you can have both in
the cart at the same time. The only thing I can think of to get
around this would be to have different products that the rewards and
coupons apply to.
