Would someone know if Shopsite provides for, or integrates into, a
digital rights management system? Specifically, for selling e-books
online? Any information would be appreciated...

Currently you can do this in ShopSite Pro via the OrderAPI feature where
you would write (or have written) your own module to handle this. There
are third-party modules available for this presently (see
http://www.shopsite.com/partners-tools.html), and in the next version of
ShopSite, the Pro version will have a Digital Goods feature built in.
