File permission problems with FrontPage

Postby shoplite » Sat Nov 17, 2001 3:55 pm

Anyone running Shopsite with FrontPage?. We are having problems when
FrontPage publishes.
Basically FP has permissions issues when it finds new Shopsite files as it
tries to publish. When it finds a Shopsite file, it reports the file and
permissions conflict and then throws you out of the publish process. Every
time this happens (when we publish new Shopsite pages) we have to call our
ISP and get them to reset permissions in the directory, which is not
practical. We have tried a few things but without success.

Hello,

We have front page and shopsite and don't have any problems. We do things a
little different though. We don't click publish when we add a new page, we
just add a page and click save (in front page). We don't add pages through
shop site, we add them through FP. The way we do it probably takes a little
longer, but we had lots of problems with our pages changing mysteriously
when we published a new page on shopsite. When we add a new product, we do
that through shopsite and publish it to a page that we call test. Then we
copy and paste the product to whatever page we want it on. It works well
for us and we seems to have a lot more freedom in our page design with FP
than we did with shopsite. Hope this helps
