Coupon placement on invoices

Postby Mark J. Kroska » Tue May 18, 2004 9:45 am

We've set up a store with ShopSite 7.0.5 and it's working great.
We are using the Coupon feature--and without fail it generates the correct
discount.
When there is more than 1 item, the coupon line item appears correctly in
the web browser to the customer (bumps that line to the bottom "Coupon
Applied ... -$1.50" for example).

But, when the orders are downloaded from the merchant side and the "View
Order" is clicked the coupon appears as item #2. It seems odd that the
coupon would appear there and not at the bottom like it appears in the
browser.

My questions:
Does when the coupon code is entered have any bearing on where is appears on
the invoice?
Is there a way to force the Applied Coupon to the bottom of the invoice?

Thanks in advance!
Mark

I have noticed this problem also - in SS 6.3 through the latest version.
When the order is downloaded, the coupon seems to appear on a line at
random. Why not force the coupon to the bottom? This should be a bug /
enhancement issue for the development team.

Coupons are stored in the orders database as a special type of product
so they will appear in the order in the position where they were entered
in the cart. I have put in an enhancement request to have this looked
at for a future release.

Thanks Jim,

Though this is a simple issue, it will make the back-end view of coupons
much more logical to see them applied after the products :)
