Integration with Stamps.com

Postby Dan Richards » Fri Jul 30, 2004 8:42 am

Hi,

I'm trying to avoid trips to the Post Office. There is a company called
Stamps.com which is affiliated with the USPS and provides software to create
printed postage. The software needs customer address information to
calculate the proper charges. Is there a way to extract address info of our
customers easily without downloading the entire order? Any way for me to
get at the DB behind Shopsite? Other suggestions?

Thanks

Dan

My wife utilize Stamps.com, but she complains about the site having issues
occasionally. I do not like web based software, so i utilize Endicia. We
had our ISP create a ShopSite Export. I enter ShopSite order range and the
interface creates XML file that we import into Endicia software.

I hope this helps a little.

Thanks Alvin,

Who's your ISP, and would they be willing to sell it?

If you use Stone Edge (www.stoneedge.com), Barney have Endicia built into
the program. We use it and it works great!

I host with Comcation (info@comcation.com) Ph# (215) 489-8875. I am curious
about your current process. What occurs upon a customer orders from your
web site. I am to embarrassed to state our old process, but i am saving
about $1500.00 a month using Endicia.

With Stone Edge (www.stoneedge.com) order downloads are automatic from
within the Stone Edge Order Manager program. Pick sheets are created
automatically and the have great order receipts. All customer information
is stored and retrieved easily by using e-mail, phone number last name or
almost any combination. Also addresses are automatically verified when you
download the orders. Endicia is built in and there are many options
including printing a batch for all of your orders.

If you don't have Stone Edge Order Manager, you should consider buying it.
Barney and his crew constantly improve it and address any concerns.

Do Stone Edge Order Manager require ShopSite hosting change. If so, what do
you offer people here (group) that do not want to change hosting?

Take a look at this:
http://www.lexiconn.com/ecommerce/shopsite/usps.html

We use this module and Endicia to pay postage and it works like a charm.

Alvin -

No, the Stone Edge Order Manager does not require a hosting change. The
Order Manager works with any standard ShopSite Manager or Pro installation.
For more information, please see www.StoneEdge.com/OrderManager.htm, or give
us a call at the number below.
