Using ShopSite for checks

Postby Marianne C » Mon Aug 16, 2004 7:16 am

Who out there is using ShopSite for check purchases? Is it working well for
you? I had been warned about issues with customers inputting the check info
incorrectly and causing problems. However, we would be able to streamline
some things if we started processing checks through shopsite rather than
handling them offline.

Thoughts?

Unless you are using the Authorize.net payment gateway with ShopSite,
the ShopSite 'Check' payment option does not automatically process
checks for you, it will just allow you to collect the check number and
routing number for you to manually process.

If you are using Authorize.net (and ShopSite v6.3 or newer) then you
should see an 'eCheck' payment method option that is the check option
that can automatically process eChecks through Authorize.net.

We process checks like Loren mentioned - offline. It works well for us,
though we have changed it to "Check - Print and Mail In."

We've thought about signing up for eChecks but there is a setup fee and
I think a monthly fee. Not worth it for just a couple of checks a month.
