image attribute change after upgrade

Postby Mark J. Kroska » Fri Nov 05, 2004 12:20 pm

We are running a store that was recently upgraded from 6.x to 7.0.5 Pro
store. There are about 1400 products--most with images.
When we go to update any information about a product with a "more info"
image that is already in the store and save, it errors off with this
message:
(#11100190) Unable to open file
[C:\Inetpub\CustomerWebs\GHQModelsWebs\ghqmodels.com\www-docs\store\media\.i
nf.\m-images\usn59.jpg] for writing!:
No such file or directory

I have removed all of the .inf.imagename.jpg files from the m-images
directory, I have reset all of the Image Attributes under "Images" in the
store.

Something else strange I've noticed: When referencing the image by path
name it looks like this:
/m-images/usn59.jpg [browser slashes like this "/"]

The images do all appear in the drop-down boxes, but they are referenced
like this:
\media\m-images usn59.jpg [filesystem slashes like this "\"]

I have the image path name selected as to where the more info graphic comes
from. If I choose the drop-down boxes, it allows me to publish (without the
error).
Strangely, if I change the "\"s to "/" in the path text box, it also allows
me to save and publish.
I really don't want to go through and update all the products with new
slashes or paths if I don't have to.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mark

It feels wierd doing a reply to my own message, but oh well.
The solution involved simply changing the file path to the new 7.x style of
all "web slashes" and not using the native NTFS "\" slashes in the image
name.
I did a Power Edit on all of the image paths and just replaced "/" with "\"
and the re-initialized the image properties on all of them.
Strange, but true.
