Verisign Problems

Hi,

Just installed ShopSite 7.1 Pro. I setup it up with our payment process
Verisign, but it's not working correctly. Information:

ShopSite 7.1
Verisign using payflow.verisign.com
Order Transaction Type = S
Billing Transaction Type = D

When a product is purchased ShopSite informs me that the transaction was
successful. However, when I log into Verisign Manager I do not see the
transaction under "Daily Reports" in Reports.

When I do a search by credit card number I'm able to find the transaction.
However, no "Order ID" is associated with the transaction. Upon further
investigation I found that when I list all the transactions for the day to
Void the transactions done through Shopsite, in the "Order ID" column it
says "Data error, Please Call customer service" for each of the transaction
done by Shopsite.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Thanks in advance.

You will have to ask VeriSign why they have that text in the Order ID
column. ShopSite will NEVER send an order number to VeriSign for the
Order Transaction, because at the time the data is sent to VeriSign, it
is not known yet If VeriSign will approve the transaction, so no
ShopSite order number has been reserved for the order yet.

The Order Number can be sent to VeriSign with the Billing Transaction,
but since you have the the Order Transaction set to 'S' (Sale) instead
of 'A' (auth-only), then there is no need to do the billing transaction
later to capture the funds since it was already done at the time of the
Order Transaction. In fact, since it is entirely unnecessary, you cannot
do a Billing Transaction, period, when your Order Transaction is 'S'.

Thanks for the information. I finally figured out the problem. My merchant
account was originally with Cybercash, and according to Verisigns web site
it says Cybercash accounts now use the Payflow Service. This is not entirely
accurate according to a support guy at Verisign. He said what they did was
write a wrapper around their API to accept the Cybercash function calls from
the MCK API.

I then enabled the Cybercash option in Shopsite by creating the cybercash.aa
file. I then was able to put in our Cybercash information and so far it
works great.

Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of with using the Cybercash option
in Shopsite 7.1? Thanks again.

Since CyberCash is not actively developed or sold by VeriSign anymore,
it is not being actively developed by ShopSite, just maintained in its
current state. No new features or improvements will be added to the
integration. I would suggest that you have VeriSign switch your account
to a real Payflow Pro account as soon as possible so you can take
advantage of its better features and future improvements.
