Mobile site issue with custom template

Hi folks,

We have been using the mobile cgi feature of ShopSite since we went live using ShopSite a few years ago. We are basically happy with it.

However, our custom templates do not carry over in the mobile sites. Mostly this is not been an major issue, but as our mobile visitors increase, it is becoming more important to address these issues.

I have read a fair amount on your forum regarding mobile cgi vrs 'responsive design' and have read Lauren's blog entry on the topic.

My question is, do we need to start thinking of ways to avoid the custom work we have done? Initially, my goal was to not use any custom templates, but comprised that goal as needs came up that we could not solve any other way.

I would appreciate your feedback on this topic.

Fred, I am not sure what you mean with "our custom templates do not carry over in the mobile sites". Can you give an example?
