Wordpress Plugin Template

Postby AlpineWeb » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:15 pm

I am having an issue with the Wordpress plugin showing the full size image - is there a way to change it so that it shows a smaller image. I tried switching template types in ShopSite Wordpress section and it did not appear to make any changes.

What version of ShopSite do you have? Do you have the em_AdvancedLayoutDIVs.sst or em_BasicLayoutDIVs.sst templates available? I've usually seen this occur only when using a responsive-design Wordpress theme with one of the older non-div based product templates.

Using one of the div templates - I do note that when I try to change that setting it does not ask me to publish the site? Would changing the template require a re-publish?

No, publish is not necessary for the templates used with WordPress.

Ok then I can say all the templates show the page the exact same way - and I would like to request some assistance in how to make the image a thumbnail.

The em_ templates used for the wordpress module will use the More Info Page Image if the product has one configured, if not it will use the Product Image. So check these two image settings in your product to see what sizes are specified for those images (the More Info Page Image Size and Product Image Size settings).

I know this is an older post but I have a question regarding the WordPress plugin and how the ShopSite templates work within WordPress. Will the pages within WordPress display the products using the ShopSite templates or the WordPress templates? In other words, if I already have my WordPress site setup and styled the way I want it, do I need to mimic that style within my ShopSite templates or will the products take on the WordPress style and appear how I want them to without additional work?

Thanks!

The WordPress plugin only inserts a ShopSite product into your WordPress post, so your overall WordPress layout should not be changed. There is a ShopSite template selection for the WordPress plugin, but it only affects the product layout, not the whole page layout.

Note that once someone clicks the add to cart button from your WordPress page they will be in the ShopSite shopping cart, which will be using the ShopSite template. So it would still be best if you can pick a ShopSite theme that looks somewhat like your WordPress theme.
