Custom Theme Help

We are evaluating Shopsite, have an evaluation demo account and created a Custom Theme. We can upload the files, but we can't use them. How do we edit the themes.dat file when we don't have a paid host yet and are still evaluating? We need to see if this works before proceeding but can't figure out how.

You can upload the files under Merchandising > Custom templates. Then in the various sections, Pages, Products, Search, Shopping Cart, Customer Registration, etc, you select the template that you made for that particular feature, i.e. the page template in Pages, the product template in Products, shopping cart for Shopping cart etc.
