Is there a fix for the image importer killing transparency?

I have read when you use the image importer to resize transparent GIF images that it losses the transparent feature.

I have not seen a talk of a fix or solution is there one?

What version of ShopSite do you have? I believe some early problems with transparency have been resolved in later releases. Looking at the code the last fixes for transparent gif and png files were added in June 2010. So you would need to have at least version 10sp2r1 to have those fixes. The most current release is version 10sp2r2 with several patches that brings the version displayed in the footer on the main back offices screen to 10sp2r2.4.

If you don't have that version talk to your host about upgrading your store. If you do have that version and are still having the problem, post a link to the full size version of the transparent version of the file and I'll download it and have the engineer look at why it isn't saving the transparency.

Looks like I'm working on version 10.0. Don't if there is a "." version.

10.0 is the original version 10 release. There have been numerous patch releases and 2 major version releases (sp1 and sp2) since the original 10 release.

I don't know if your host will upgrade you or not but they have access to the latest build so you should request it and maybe that will get them to move to the most current version.

So far they say they don't support anything later than 10.0.

I may have to change hosting companies.
