Changing ship-zip on second cart page - fixed now?

Postby gentlemans01 » Thu Jul 08, 2021 3:53 pm

In the past, there was a problem with Shopsite getting confused if a customer changed their zip code on the second shopping cart page (bill/ship address page.)

If they entered zip 12345 on the initial cart page, then updated the ship-zip to 12666 on the second page, Shopsite would complain about a mismatch. The solution was for the user to go back to page 1 and correct the zip, then proceed again. A rather user-unfriendly process!

I believe this is fully resolved in more recent releases of Shopsite, whereby a user can now make zip code updates on the cart page 2 and Shopsite will just update the order totals without complaint.

We are running version 14.0 sp3 Pro, and my testing suggests that my belief above is correct.

Can someone from Shopsite please confirm this is the case? Can you point me to any version release notes that mention this fix?

Thanks!
Chris

Chris,

14.0 r1.

https://support.shopsite.com/KBase/questions/2586

"* changes the way location-based shipping handles the shopper changing the shipping zip/country on the Checkout page. The shopper no longer has to return to the initial Shopping Cart page (order.cgi) from the Checkout (billing.cgi) if the shipping zip entered on the Cart page is changed on the Checkout page AND the same shipping method is still available. ShopSite now recalculates the shipping on the Checkout page when the zip code changes."

The only reason they would have to go back is if the shipping option they selected with the original zip/country is no longer available for the new zip/country.
